Hi, and welcome to my Substack! I'm Miriam Landor and I live in Orkney, an archipelago off the north coast of Scotland.

Previously a teacher, educational psychologist and university lecturer, I am now focussing on my writing. I'm currently seeking publication of my completed memoir while I draft the first of a series of novels set in an educational psychology service. Murmuration

Those other girls…

Each is a separate being.

One has a sharper beak,

Another a brighter sheen,

A beadier eye,

A quicker jab reflex.

When they see me

They wheel together as one body,

Shape shifting,

Filling my sky.

They murmur, cruel shafts.

I cower. A beetle. A worm.
